From there, our experienced instructors at our leading kitesurf school in Zanzibar will guide you through equipment preparation, beach flying, and the exhilarating experience of body dragging and body dragging with a board. The course culminates in your first waterstarts, setting the stage for your kitesurfing journey in Zanzibar. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THE BEGINNER (A1) COURSE:
Understanding Environmental Conditions

Safety Basics
Safety is a top priority in kitesurfing, especially for beginners. In this course, you’ll learn essential safety procedures, including how to set up your equipment correctly, how to use your safety systems, and what to do in case of an emergency.
Getting Ready with Equipment
Familiarize yourself with the kitesurfing equipment, including the kite, harness, and board. You’ll learn how to set up your gear properly, ensuring that everything is in place before you hit the water.
Beach Fly with a Soft Kite
Start practicing kite control on the beach with a soft kite. This session will help you understand how to steer the kite and manage its power, giving you the confidence you need to progress to water-based activities.
Body Drag and Body Drag with a Board
Master the essential technique of body dragging, which allows you to move through the water without the board. You’ll also begin practicing body dragging with a board, a key skill that prepares you for your first water starts.
